Dubai Chocolate Cake — 4-Layer Chocolate Pistachio Cake with Kataifi Crunch + Ganache

If you love rich chocolate cake, nutty pistachio flavor, and layers of crunchy texture, this Dubai Chocolate Cake is pure luxury. It features two chocolate cake layers and two pistachio layers (tinted a soft green). Between each layer is a buttery pistachio–kataifi mixture for the perfect Middle Eastern–inspired crunch. It’s wrapped in pistachio frosting and finished with a glossy chocolate ganache drip—beautiful, rich, and surprisingly easy.


Ingredients

For the Cake Layers

• 1 box chocolate cake mix

• 1 box white or yellow cake mix

• Eggs, oil, and water as listed on each box

• 4 tbsp pistachio butter (for the pistachio cakes)

• 2 tbsp milk (for pistachio cakes)

• Green food coloring

For the Pistachio–Kataifi Filling

• 1 cup kataifi, lightly crushed

• 2–4 tbsp pistachio butter

For the Pistachio Frosting

• 1 can vanilla frosting

• 2–4 tbsp pistachio butter

• 1–3 tbsp powdered sugar

• Green food coloring

For the Chocolate Ganache

• ½ cup heavy cream

• 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

1. Bake the Cake Layers

1. Prepare the chocolate cake mix as directed; divide into two 8-inch pans and bake.

2. Prepare the white/yellow cake mix as directed, then stir in:

• 4 tbsp pistachio butter

• 2 tbsp milk

• Green food coloring

3. Divide into two pans and bake.

4. Cool all four layers completely.


2. Make the Pistachio–Kataifi Filling

Lightly crush the kataifi and mix with 2–4 tbsp pistachio butter until coated and slightly clumpy.


3. Make the Pistachio Frosting

Mix canned frosting with 2–4 tbsp pistachio butter, powdered sugar if needed to thicken, and green food coloring. Beat until smooth.


4. Build the Cake (No Frosting Between Layers)

1. Place a chocolate layer down.

2. Spread a generous layer of the pistachio–kataifi mixture.

3. Add a pistachio layer → more kataifi mixture.

4. Add the second chocolate layer → more kataifi mixture.

5. Finish with the last pistachio layer on top.

6. Frost only the outside of the cake with your pistachio frosting.


5. Make the Ganache

1. Heat ½ cup cream until steaming.

2. Pour over 1 cup chocolate chips.

3. Let sit 1 minute, then stir smooth.

4. Cool slightly until thick enough to drip slowly.


6. Add the Ganache Drip
