• 1/4 cup corn starch

• A generous amount of cinnamon (adjust to taste for that perfect warmth)

• 1 cup almond milk (or any milk of your choice)

• Vegetable oil, for frying

• Optional: extra cinnamon sugar for dusting

Directions

1. Prepare the apples: Core your apples and slice them vertically into rings about 1/2-inch thick—just the right size to resemble mini doughnuts.

2. Make the batter: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, corn starch, and a generous sprinkle of cinnamon. The aroma alone will make your kitchen feel like autumn!

3. Add the milk: Slowly pour in the almond milk while stirring, until you have a smooth, slightly thick batter that will cling perfectly to your apple slices.

4. Heat the oil: Pour vegetable oil into a deep-frying pan or pot, enough to submerge the apple slices halfway. Heat to 180°C (350°F). To test, drop a small bit of batter in—if it sizzles immediately, it’s ready.
