Soft & Chewy Strawberry Sugar Cookie Bars (Made From Cookie Mix)
If you love bakery-style cookie bars but want something easy and foolproof, these soft and chewy strawberry sugar cookie bars are it. They’re made from Betty Crocker sugar cookie mix, baked gently in a glass pan, and finished with a tender center and perfectly set edges—no raw middles, no burnt corners.
This method fixes the most common cookie-bar problem and works every time.
Ingredients
• 1 package Betty Crocker Sugar Cookie Mix
• Ingredients listed on the package (usually butter + egg)
• ¼–½ tsp strawberry extract
• A few drops pink or red food coloring
• 1–2 tbsp sweetened condensed milk (optional, for extra softness)

Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 325°F (163°C).
2. Grease or line a 9×9 glass baking dish.
3. In a bowl, mix the butter and egg according to the package directions. Stir in the strawberry extract, food coloring, and sweetened condensed milk (if using).
4. Add the cookie mix and stir just until combined.
5. Press the dough evenly into the prepared pan—do not pack it down too tightly.
6. Bake uncovered for 15 minutes, until the edges look set.
7. Loosely cover the pan with foil and return to the oven.
8. Bake 10–15 minutes more, until the center no longer looks shiny and a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
9. Turn the oven off, crack the door, and let the bars rest inside for 5 minutes.
10. Remove, cool completely, then slice into bars.
