Instructions

Start by activating the yeast. In a large bowl, combine the warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Stir gently and let the mixture sit for about 10 minutes, or until it becomes foamy. This step ensures your yeast is alive and ready to help the dough rise.

Once the yeast is activated, add the melted butter, egg, and salt. Mix until combined. Gradually add the flour, starting with 3 cups, mixing until a soft dough forms. If the dough feels too sticky, add a little more flour, one tablespoon at a time.

Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for a few minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic. Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

After the first rise, punch the dough down and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a ball and place them into a greased baking dish. Cover and let them rise again for 30 minutes.

Preheat your oven to 375°F. Bake the rolls for about 15 minutes, or until the tops are lightly golden. Remove from the oven and immediately brush with melted butter for that classic soft and shiny finish.

Tips for Perfect Rolls

• Make sure your milk isn’t too hot—anything over 115°F can kill the yeast.

• These rolls freeze well once cooled

These homemade dinner rolls are simple, comforting, and always a crowd favorite. Serve them warm with butter, honey, or alongside your favorite meal. Once you make them, you’ll never want store-bought rolls again!

Happy baking and God bless 🤍
